We remember September 11, 2001 – 8 Years Later
Today it has been eight years since that day. I was at work while my wife was teaching at Harvest Preparatory School. I remember what I was doing that day, working provider records for a major insurance company while listening to the LEFT BEHIND series on CD/Cassette. It was the beginning of book # 3 when the red horse of the Apocalypse was released upon the earth to bring WAR. Chloe and Buck were fleeing the chaos in their newly purchased Range Rover vehicle. Unfortunately that day similar sounds and reports in this fiction book became partial REALITY that day. I remember the thoughts that ran through my mind.
I have always maintained that in my lifetime I believe the Rapture of the church will take place. We are in the last of the last days clearly as you can see end times prophecy happening literally on a daily basis. Israel is the time line of prophetic events. I remember a good friend who has recently went to be with the Lord, Penny Badger. She and I back in 1995 talked about end time prophecies and even then the possibilities that Jesus would split the eastern sky. As I think about events that remind us of September 11th, I think of it in light of the church and what is happening therein.
Right now it is fair to say the church is more concerned about their next blessing or how many new cars and boats that God can bless them with. Obviously when all comes down to the rubber meets the road, all those things will burn and we will all stand before God with just our decision for Him and what we did with our life to show for it. My home, my cars, my computers, none of it will matter.
I guess when it all comes down too it, Jesus is the only thing that matters today. We give God thanks for His son, and for what He has done.
