Praise the Lord!! This phrase has been my motto for this week. It is from the word of God in Matthew 24:13…

But he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved. — Matthew 24:13

After the third day of waking up at 4:45am to be at a 5am workout, you know that it has been a practice of patience and virtue for me. Besides that, still catching up on work, dealing with extended family tragedy, and somehow keeping up with the unexpected, life is never boring. I love to be busy, but there is a point of “ridiculous” that is reached. Well, I am practically there. But if I can endure to the end, I know that it’s all for the good. He has my affairs in the palm of His hand, and He will take me THROUGH the fire, with a testimony at the end!

Breathe upon me Lord!!!

In John 20:22-23, the NLT (New Living Translation) says:

Then He breathed on them and said, “Receive the Holy Spirit. If you forgive anyone’s sins, they are forgiven. If you do not forgive them, they are not forgiven.”

I had never looked at this passage of scripture this way before. We always focus on the part that indicates that Jesus breathed on them, and they received the Holy Spirit indwelling (infilling would come later at Pentecost in Acts 2), but what struck me is the part about forgiveness. If I forgive my brother/sister, then they are forgiven in heaven. But what power our words and will have in heaven if we say that we don’t forgive our brother and they are not forgiven in heaven??!! Jesus makes it very clear that not only are we supposed to forgive our brother, but we are to do it 70×7 = 490 times!! I would say that is even a low number, the obvious point is that we are to forgive our brother/sister without conditions.

Lord help me forgive all those who have done wrong against me and my family! You know what I need Jesus!!!

Bloomington Youth Basketball – 1st Grade Champions!!!!!!!!!!

My daughter Hannah and her team last night won the 1st Grade league Championship game by the score of 13-11, sealing a Cinderella victory much like our beloved Hickory in the movie Hoosiers! CONGRATULATIONS to the Bloomington COLTS for their hard work and championship season! Hats off to the players who played as a team, and the coaches Greg and Jeff who believed in our beloved Colts!!

Congratulations Hannah!! Mom and Dad love you and are PROUD!!!!

Every single person that played in this 2010 NCAA National Title game played 100%. What a game!!! Butler, my favorite in this game, you may have came literally one shot short that about went in, but you are ALL WINNERS! Take a bow!!!

All I can say to end this night is watch this video.. Elvis, you couldn’t have said it any better…

“Put a post it note on your head” – Moses

Today is a great day to remember what God has told us to do, and the commandments He has given us. Today, read Deuteronomy 5 where Moses gives the 10 commandments for a second time to the Israelites in the wilderness. In chapter 6:6 in the New Living Translation, Moses says:

“And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands that I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are on the road, when you are going to bed and when you are getting up. Tie them to your hands and WEAR THEM ON YOUR FOREHEAD as reminders. Write them on the doorposts of your house and on your gates!” Deuteronomy 6:6-9 NLT Emphasis Added (Credit to Tyndale Publishers)

Wear them on your forehead??!! Well, that’s what Moses is trying to get at! We may not go around each day with pieces of paper tied to our hands or post it notes on our forehead, but there is a very important truth to this passage. As God has given each of us a logos word (His written word in the Bible) and a rhema word (A personal word He has spoken personally in our hearts) we must write them down, and repeat them daily literally out loud! Get your mind renewed by REMINDING yourself each and everyday of what God has said to you. Our human minds unfortunately forget most of what we read and understand. We must remind it daily of what God has said about ourselves and what we WILL do for Him.

So you may be saying Michael, how do I do that? Well, it’s quite simple. Write down or type up in a word processor scriptures or personal words He has given you, and every morning before your mind has had time to think start reading to yourself in your devotional time what these words say! As you speak, your making a difference in the realm of the Spirit, and it goes up as a prayer and memorial before God. It’s more than “claim it, blab it, have it” but it’s MUCH more powerful than that! It’s a determined believer in God’s Holy words and those words are establishing your future (Job 22:28)! God fights your battles, but a believer without a voice is like a soldier without a sword! USE your sword!! Use your mouth!! The devil wants to shut you up, but we know the secret. We know HIS words spoken by our mouth still the enemy in his tracks! He is no match for the words of our wonderful savior JESUS!!!!!

What am I doing at 1am??

So, what in the world am I doing at 1am? I slept a few hours today because I had a tooth filling done. I realized after today that my sleeping habits are totally off base, along with my vitamin and nutritional intake. Lord help me!! So, why would I look for a new theme for Wordpress forever while watching Kansas State get by on a “squeek” in the NCAA’s?? I must be crazy!! I need sleep!!!

Besides, I love the theme now anyways??!! Why change it?

Healthcare bill is no longer about healthcare!!!!!!!

Everyone, this healthcare bill is NOT about healthcare anymore. It is about an “out of control” congress that despite the WILL of the people does exactly what it wants to do. Listen to Minority Leader John Boehner’s speech before the house last night before this bill passed. I believe he has put forth the feelings of the majority of Americans. Sure, I have spoken with several who are just as passionate about the fact that we now have a healthcare bill, and an option for uninsured Americans, but do we REALLY know what passed last night???!!!!!
